The concept of the app seemed so simple to me. Doesn’t everyone want to make new friends? Especially friends that are like-minded, and share similar weird hobbies and interests? I know I have. But whenever I did some research, I realised no-one had quite nailed it. I had the framework of this app simmering away in my head for years, so finally I thought I would have a crack myself. It’s been a rollercoster, but I’m hoping it will bring much-needed connection into people’s everyday lives.
On the surface level, I am hoping this app will help it’s users to more easily forge long-lasting and meaningful connections. On a deeper and more important level, I’m hoping it will help overcome the loneliness and isolation epidemic that currently impacts the mental health of one in three Australians. I’d also love it if it became a platform to help promote and launch passion projects, creative pursuits, hobby groups, small businesses and volunteer organisations of all types and sizes.
I needed to fill a third panel. And donuts are delicious right? I mean, I can’t eat gluten but I remember them being pretty great. I’m also a big fan of J Dilla.. RIP to Dilla!
